Highlights of spring break 2010. Tame by American standards but just awesome by mine. Spring break started with repainting the car on Friday. It wasn't too shoddy a job and the car looks way better, at least the brown, green and blue paint have been redone.
The physical therapy sessions were just awesome and helped so much in the mobility. I can now move without wincing and is less reliant on the pain meds now. I found out last week that I can set balls within a 1-foot radius. Compared to a week ago with the spectacular hematoma, this feels great. I'm hoping for another miraculous recovery week and maybe, just maybe I can play on Saturday.
Got a lot of work done. The USDA work and assignments were all completed and I think I'm pretty much ahead of the curve this time round. In the zone, man. In the zone.
The icing of the spring break was the dinner with the volleyball guys. The menu was a warm cheese & bacon dip served in a bread bowl for appetizers. Butternut squash soup. Oven baked ribs (recipe from Alton Brown) and a Mont Blanc dessert (chestnut puree) courtesy of Madame Levy of Wind and Wood. It was the first time I made Mont Blanc and I had to make 2 Food 911 calls to Diane to ask about what to do. Notes for that recipe. It takes way way longer than the 30min indicated by the recipe. But, it turned out well after being chilled and topped off with copious amount of whipped cream.. I know self-praise is no praise but It was a delicious dinner if I say so myself. I'll call that the best meal I've prepared so far.
